LAS, GeoTIFF, DXF: What You Receive After an Aerial Survey

1 min read By TOPSCAN

Point cloud: LAS and E57

A point cloud is the survey as millions of measured 3D points. LAS and E57 open directly in Revit, Civil 3D and ArchiCAD, and are the right choice when you need to design against real conditions or check as-built work.

Orthophoto and elevation model: GeoTIFF

An orthophoto is a map-accurate image of the site: distances can be measured on it directly. The elevation model, delivered in the same GeoTIFF format, describes the height of the terrain or of everything on it, and feeds contours, slopes and volumes.

Drawings and GIS data: DXF, DWG, GeoJSON

Contours, breaklines, boundaries and utilities are delivered as vector drawings for CAD, or as attribute layers for GIS.

  • DXF and DWG for CAD and as-built drawings
  • GeoJSON for GIS systems and web maps
  • PDF or XLSX for reports and volume statements

Choosing what you need

Most projects need two or three of these, not all of them. The best starting point is the software your team already uses.

Tell us your software before the flight. We deliver in a format that opens without conversion.

Project Start

Request a Free Test Flight

We will survey a test area (up to 0.5 ha) of your current project free of charge. You will receive a point cloud or an orthomosaic to verify the data quality in your own CAD software before the project starts.

  • Response within one business day
  • Flight coordination accounting for airspace
  • Sample data in a format that fits your software
